I Click On A Link But Nothing Happens
When you click on an Online Video link on this web site, you should see a pop-up window that looks like the one shown here. The video should load and start playing automatically. If you do not see this pop-up window, it may be because you are using an old web browser. You should download the latest free version of Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
Another possibility is that a your computer is blocking the pop-up window because it thinks it is a pop-up advertisement. You should set your pop-up blocking software to allow pop-ups on our site (we do not use pop-ups for advertising).
I See The Window, But The Video Won't Load
The video should load and start playing automatically. Do not click the play button, as this may put the video in "Pause." You need to have Windows Media Player version 9 or higher installed on your computer. The Windows Media Player comes already installed on most Windows computers, and will usually update itself if needed (see "dowloading codec" question below). But if you are having trouble, you can download and install the player for free via windowsmedia.com. Be sure to download version 9 or higher.
The Video Window Says "Connecting" or "Buffering" But Never Plays
Streaming video is designed to download and play quickly, with minimal download time. But this problem can occur if you have a slow internet connection, or if your internet provider is experiencing heavy traffic. Try connecting at a different time of day, or reconnecting to your provider to see if you can get a faster connection. Connections slower than 56k are more likely to have this problem.
I Hear the Sound, But There's No Picture
Make sure you have upgraded to the latest free version of Windows Media Player 9 Series via windowsmedia.com. Also, check that your screen's color setting is "High Color (16 bit)" or better. To change the color properties in Windows, RIGHT-CLICK on the desktop, choose Properties, then click the Settings tab.
I See The Video Moving, But There Is No Sound
First, make sure another program, like a music player, is not already using the speakers. You may need to turn the volume up to hear our Online Video. Check to make sure your computer speakers are connected properly, and are turned on. If your computer has a "Mute" button, check that as well.
I see a message "downloading codec." What's that?
Our site uses Windows Media Codec 9. Most older versions of Windows Media Player will automatically download and install the new files to play our video if you do not already have them. This may take a few moments, but will only happen once. Please be patient and wait for it to complete. You may also see dialog boxes asking if it is ok to download and install new components from Microsoft Corporation. You should click "Yes" or "OK" to update your player.
I'm using a Mac. What about me?
Windows Media works on Macs as well. If the video will not play, download the latest free version of the player at windowsmedia.com. You will need to install Windows Media Player for Macintosh version 9 or higher.
